MORGON Château de Bellevue - Climat Les Charmes
These 40 year-old vines are planted on East/South-eastern facing slopes in the Les Charmes climat. The grapes are vinified in the fermentation room of the chateau according to the traditional Burgundy methods and destemming. A long, 25-day fermentation period with manual cap punching allows for a long, slow extraction of silky tannins, typical of this climat.
The wine is then partially aged in oak foudres and barrels for 9 to 10 months.
This Morgon Château de Bellevue Climat Les Charmes is a superb wine, redolent of red and morello cherries with hints of kirsch and fine, elegant tannins.
MORGON Château de Bellevue Réserve Caveau - Le Clos
These 70 year-old vines are located immediately around the château. The grapes are vinified in two different styles: half according to the destemmed, traditional Burgundy method; half in whole bunches. A long, 25-day fermentation period follows, to conserve a maximum amount of fruit and the characteristics of the terroir, and to propose a complex wine with round tannins.
The wine is aged in oak barrels for 10 months.
This Morgon unveils an intense, toasted nose of elderberries and black cherries, with a hint of cinnamon. In the mouth, the wine is structured and elegant, with firm, round tannins.
You will also have the chance to try other wines from the Jean Loron Estates: Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Saint-Amour and more.
